JavaScript Fun
Posted in Web Development by Florin on May. 23rd 2008 @ 11:19 a.m.
What some people manage to achieve with just JavaScript never ceases to amaze me. After first seeing the DHTML Lemmings a while go, I’ve come across the 14kB Mario, a couple of weeks ago, and today found out there’s even a JS Mario Kart.
Apparently the last 2 wonders are the results of just one man, Jacob Seidelin, who’s ported other classics to JS, as well, such as Wolfenstein 3D and Breakout (I think this is what the original was called). Check out the games category on his blog.
I’ve never managed to take a closer look at the canvas or the JS primitives drawing API, but after seeing what these guys managed to achieve, I’m almost tempted to try something out for some iPod Touch/iPhone fun.
